Aidan Zingg, the 16-year-old motocross prodigy from Washington, has tragically passed away following an incident at Mammoth Mountain MX. Known for his remarkable talent and fierce determination, Aidan had quickly made a name for himself in the national amateur circuit and had recently signed with Kawasaki’s prestigious Team Green program. He was poised to make a major impact as he moved into the highly competitive 250cc class—an athlete whose future seemed limitless.
Today, industry veteran Kris Keefer shared the heartbreaking news, calling it a “heavy day at Mammoth Mountain MX” and urging the motocross community to keep the Zingg family in their thoughts and prayers. He also reminded everyone to hug their loved ones and never take a single day for granted.
Aidan Zingg went down in a corner during a race, and it appears he wasn’t involved in a mid-air collision as some of the rumors. After the crash, he was reportedly run over by multiple bikes and remained unconscious on the track for two laps before the race was red flagged.
Aidan’s passing is a devastating reminder of the risks that come with the sport, and of the vibrant young life lost far too soon. His passion, spirit, and potential will never be forgotten. More info will be provided soon!
