KTM recalls KTM 450 SX-F EU models of model year 2021 and 2022 to the workshops of authorized KTM dealers in order to replace the shift drum.
A defective shift drum may have been installed in the above-mentioned models due to deviations in manufacturing at our supplier. The shift drum may break and possibly damage the transmission. The shift drum must therefore be replaced on all affected motorcycles. This deviation only affects KTM 450 SX-F EU 4-gear models.
Customers to whom the affected motorcycles have already been delivered are being personally informed by letter and are asked to immediately contact an authorized KTM dealer to arrange an appointment for replacement. In addition, customers can check online in the “Service” area on the KTM website if their motorcycle is affected by the recall.
The replacement of the shift drum takes approximately 330 minutes. The replacement can be carried out by authorized KTM dealers only. This replacement of the shift drum is a free-of-charge service for customers performed under warranty.
