While it was another Tim Gajser walk-over in Trentino last weekend, there was plenty of close racing, as the HRC factory rider had to deal with first Glenn Coldenhoff of the Monster Energy Yamaha team, and then another blue crew rider, Maxime Renaux in the second MXGP moto.
Gajser though is in complete control of the 2022 MXGP championship and his most recent success last weekend starts to really put pressure on his rivals to change the current trend. Even Jorge Prado who won in Portugal looked less than his usual self in Trentino but managed to finish with his fourth straight podium finish, which in itself is impressive. Maybe some expect too much too soon from the young GasGas rider and should just be happy to see him get the odd GP win for now. He is the future, so be patient.
