The 2023 Anaheim 2 Supercross has been an exciting one. It’s the first Triple Crown of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross season and it comes at a perfect time, because we have the same two riders finish first and second in the 450SX Main Events so far this season. Eli Tomac has been unstoppable after two races and Cooper Webb has been consistent with two second place finishes. The Triple Crown format subtracts the Heat races from the schedule and implements LCQ races just after timed qualifying, before the lights turn on for the night show. Then, when the official racing gets started, the 450SX class will have three 12-minutes plus 1-lap Main Events and the riders with the best overall score after three races will win the night.
Jett Lawrence has been fast all day and it’s going to be hard for the rest of the 250 West field to compete with him if he keeps up his impressive lap times and consistency that he’s had throughout the first two races and throughout the qualifying practices today at Anaheim 2.
