It’s time to feel the heat as the second half of the MXGP season gets underway, with round eleven coming to you from just under the equator, as the Selaparang Circuit on the island of Lombok hosts the MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara, named after the province of the country that includes this row of islands along the south edge of Indonesia. There’s no doubt about it, this will be the hottest race of the year!
The MXGP World Championship is turning into a constant battle between Tim Gajser and Jorge Prado, the two most successful riders ever in this part of the world, and Jeffrey Herlings is still very much a factor as he races in Indonesia for the first time in six years! The red plate is with the Slovenian, but his two chasers will be determined to take back the momentum!
In MX2, Kay de Wolf still leads the series, but is looking for his first GP win since early April to hold off his pursuers! Simon Laengenfelder is second in the points but still looking for his first GP victory of the season, while Lucas Coenen is right behind the German and the only one in the class with a previous victory among these islands! Sacha Coenen is the man on form, however, with two straight GP wins coming into this race! It is anybody’s guess as to who can win from the hungry pack of MX2 chargers!
