It’s amazing how time flies, we are already at round ten, the halfway point of the 2024 MXGP World Motocross Championships, and this weekend we are at mythical Maggiora Park for the MXGP of Italy, the legendary venue in the north-western region of Italy, just a one-hour drive from the bustling city of Milan.
As we reach this iconic circuit, the MXGP World Championship is proving to be an absolute classic as reigning Champion Jorge Prado, who clinched his first MXGP class world crown here last year, battles with the previous year’s Champion Tim Gajser, with the red plate swapping between the pair for each of the last five Grands Prix! The Slovenian currently holds the lead by four points, but the pace of Prado has seen him collect six winner’s trophies this year and anything could happen!
As if that wasn’t enough, the 2021 Champion, Jeffrey Herlings, has just taken his first GP victory of the year and is very much capable of bridging the gap to the leading two! How will he fare in his first race at Maggiora for 8 years?!
