As the heat races progressed, they continued to take out prominent riders. Following Cooper Webb’s incident, Jason Anderson also suffered a setback when he hit the concrete after getting cross-rutted. Although he managed to walk away under his own power, he appeared to be favoring his shoulder, which he had previously injured during a crash in the whoops while practicing.
