Well, Steve Matthes from PulpMX has given hope to US fans all over the world, with Team USA now appearing more likely to attend MXoN in Ernee, France in October. The missing piece is Christian Craig, who was injured in the Glendale Supercross back in April with a dislocated hip and dislocated shoulder. However, he has recently been back on the bike training and preparing for SuperMotocross. We expected Craig to compete in the SMX, but he is still not 100% and has decided to sit out. With MXoN coming in October, he has one more month to prepare for the event. Steve believes that Christian Craig will be in MX Open, RJ Hampshire will be on a 250 in MX2, and Aaron Plessinger in MX1.
Aaron Plessinger finished third in the 450 outdoors in America, RJ was in 250 title contention until his crash at Unadilla, so they are legitimately top-tier riders to lead the team, and Barcia is currently fit again and racing in SMX, so he could be involved in the mix as well
It does sound like the USA will send a team to MXDN after all, still securing the third rider. AP, RJ are in
