The 2024 Monster Energy Supercross Championship is officially underway and it’s shaping up to be one for the record books. The 450 class is stacked with almost a full gate of factory riders. With young phenom Jett Lawrence moving up to the 450 class for 2024, Eli Tomac coming back from injury and (maybe) in his last year of Pro racing, defending 450SX Champion Chase Sexton moving to KTM, Hunter Lawrence and Justin Cooper moving to the 450 class and Malcolm Stewart coming back from injury, we have endless storylines with many potential winners on the line in 2024.
Dean Wilson had a solid night at Anaheim 1, finishing P5 in the Heat Race and performing well in the Main Event. However, the main event is where things escalated. At the start of the race, Malcolm Stewart and Ken Roczen got tangled up with Vince Friese, and both found themselves at the back of the pack. Following that, Vince Friese collided with Dean Wilson and himself. Vince got hurt and left the bike on the track, walking off the stadium. Dean Wilson expressed his frustration by showing him a middle finger. A video of the crash will be posted later today.
Dean Wilson said, “I was running 10th or 11th in the first lap and got blindsided by Vince again. He caught me in the corner and fu*** cleaned me out. He eliminated himself from the race and didn’t even finish. There are not enough names in the book to call this guy; he is a clown.”
