Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart had a rough day at San Francisco Supercross, Round 2 of the AMA Supercross Season this past weekend. Firstly, he experienced a huge endo during the qualifying session, fortunately escaping any major injuries. Later, in the main event, he was involved in a first-turn crash with Christian Craig and Jason Anderson, among others, as part of a group of riders who crashed out early in the first corner. Unfortunately, he recorded a DNF (Did Not Finish) in the race.
Here is footage of what happened to Malcolm: Clearly, we can see that his bike is stuck in the mud and tangled with a tuff block. He lacks sufficient help to extract the bike. According to East Side Moto, a fan from the stands comes down and attempts to lift the bike to free it. It was a challenging day and a race to forget for most of the riders out there.
I can’t 100% confirm this was a fan, but what are the rules regarding outside assistance from fans? Definitely not suggesting there should be a penalty, but could ama issue one if they really wanted to? @kellenbrauer @pulpmx @JasonWeigandt https://t.co/MaQb1KVrfc
