Aaron Plessinger reflected on his team’s incredible performance, emphasizing how special the podium finish was despite the initial doubts. “A lot of people had doubt that we were even going to get on the podium,” he shared. For Plessinger, the most remarkable part was how quickly the team came together. Just two weeks ago, they didn’t even have a solid team, but with Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac stepping up, they were able to put up a fierce fight. Even though they didn’t take the win, Plessinger was proud of their performance, falling just a few points short of victory.
He also spoke about the unique dynamic of team racing, contrasting it with the individual mindset they typically have during the season. Plessinger admitted it was strange being excited about an eighth-place finish because it contributed to the team’s overall result. He highlighted how Eli Tomac, in particular, exceeded expectations, despite only competing in a few nationals. “To come here and do that and really show out for the team is unreal,” Plessinger said. Reflecting on the experience, he ranked this as his best team event yet, especially compared to previous years.
Plessinger said – ” Yeah, man, I think it was special, man. A lot of people had doubt that we were even going to get on the podium. We came here and shut some people up for sure. We were in contention to win going into the last one. And, you know, if you think about it two weeks ago, we didn’t even have a team then. So for, for Coop to step up and, for Eli to step up. And it’s one thing for me because I’ve been racing all year. But for them to do it, Coop only did one national. Eli, I think, three or two. And yeah, for them to come here.
