Eli Tomac – “I Feel As Good As I Did in 2022” Ready to Challenge Jett Lawrence!

    By DirtbikeLoverDecember 12, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Swapmoto caught up with the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha racer for this installment of the 6D Helmets Midweek Podcast to talk about his “off-season” adventures, his preparedness as Anaheim One draws near, being on the largest team in the pits, and much more!

I feel like I did at the start of 2022 and ’23,” Eli Tomac remarked in a conversation with Donn Maeda. As the newly crowned WSX champion, Tomac is eyeing a return to AMA Supercross dominance, a title he has won twice before. In 2022, he was on the brink of clinching it again until an Achilles tendon rupture at his home round in Denver abruptly ended his campaign.

At 32, Tomac reflected on his age: “When I was young and green at 17, I’d see 30-year-old guys and think, ‘Wow, they’re old.’ But now that I’m here, I realize this is prime time. With all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained, this feels like the moment to shine.”

Tomac didn’t shy away from naming his main rival. “Jett Lawrence is obviously the biggest target—he’s the one everyone is gunning for. You’ve got to beat Jett. Beyond him, it’s a toss-up until racing starts. Cooper is super strong, and then there’s Chase, Hunter, Jason, and Kenny.”
