Tim Gajser suffered a massive crash in MXGP Race 2 in Switzerland after unexpectedly hitting a pile of soil left on the side of the track. The impact violently threw the Slovenian rider down the course, and although he initially tried to remount his bike, he was soon seen clutching his shoulder in pain.
Gajser came into the race with a commanding 49-point lead in the championship, but this incident could shift the entire title race. Motocross can be absolutely unforgiving.
