Last week, one of Chad Reed’s TwoTwo Motosports race bikes appeared at a Mecum auction, drawing immediate attention from motocross fans and collectors. The bike failed to meet its $50,000 reserve, with bidding stopping at $37,000, and ultimately did not sell.
Yesterday, Chad Reed addressed the situation in an interview, casting doubt on the bike’s authenticity. Reed stated that he cannot confirm the bike belongs to him or TwoTwo Motosports, adding that it is not a genuine raced machine. He explained that the only real TwoTwo race bike he knows of is in his possession and currently located in Atlanta, Georgia, suggesting the auctioned bike may be a replica rather than an authentic race-used model.
