DIGA Procross KTM Racing has shared a positive update on Thomas Kjer Olsen’s condition. Olsen, who was placed in a medically-induced coma after a hard crash in qualifying at the Grand Prix of Latvia, has woken up, according to the official statement below.
Words: Press Release
After the heavy crash and the resulting head injury during the qualifying race at the MXGP of Latvia in Kegums, DIGA Procross KTM Racing athlete Thomas Kjer Olsen was placed in a medically induced coma for a couple of days. In the past few days the doctors have brought Thomas back to consciousness due to his stable health condition.
Thomas is able to move his arms and legs and is fortunately making further progress every day.
In order to give Thomas a familiar environment, his transfer from Latvia to his home country of Denmark is planned for the coming week. There, the long and hard process of recovery will also begin.
The most important thing for Thomas in the next few weeks is to get plenty of rest in order to make the best possible progress in his recovery. For this reason, visits are unfortunately not possible during this time.
The family and the @Team_Diga_Procross would like to thank you all again for the messages regarding Thomas’ health and the prayers for him. We all look forward to seeing him back at the track soon, healthy and smiling.
