Over the weekend, a significant event occurred at Round 10 of the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship held in Detroit, Mich. Brothers Justin and Josh Hill accomplished an impressive feat by securing 7th and 10th place finishes, respectively, and both finishing within the top 10. This accomplishment makes history, as it has been almost 50 years since the last time a set of brothers finished inside the top 10 of a premier 450SX Class Main Event on the same night. Jim and Ron Pomeroy were the last duo to accomplish this feat in Houston back in 1974.
After taking a two-year hiatus from racing, Justin made his return to the sport in 2023 with a renewed sense of purpose. During his break, he pursued a career in law enforcement with the goal of helping to combat the drug epidemic in his hometown of Yoncalla, Oregon. Additionally, he became a father to two children. Now at the age of 27, Justin is re-energized and ready to compete once again. Meanwhile, Josh Hill also stepped away from racing after finishing 8th in the 450SX Class Championship in 2014. He returned to racing in 2018 and has faced many obstacles along the way. However, he is now back in top-10 contention and has even won a silver medal in Real Moto at the X Games in 2020. For the first time in their careers, Justin and Josh are now racing together on the same team, Team Tedder Monster Energy Mountain Motorsports.
