It didn’t take long for Deegan to start making friends (or rivals) in the big leagues. After Seth Hammaker’s heartbreak yesterday—getting taken out by RJ Hampshire while fighting for the championship—Deegan couldn’t resist drawing a comparison to a past moment in motocross history: when Zach Osborne famously took out Joey Savatgy at Las Vegas 2017 to clinch the 250 East title.
Post-race, Hammaker was clearly stunned by what happened. Several 450 riders came over to console him, including Joey Savatgy. That’s when Deegan took the opportunity to poke some fun at Joey, commenting:
“Versace gets it more than anyone else.” Savatgy fired back: “@dangerboydeegan you could @ me next time, dork. See you in the 450 class.”
But Deegan didn’t stop there, replying:
“I didn’t see you in outdoors when I was lapping you, so maybe I’ll see you on the 4faddy 🤙🏽” Savatgy clapped back with some hometown heat: “I’ll stop by the DQ off Bradfordville next time and say hi.”
