The long-anticipated entry of Ducati into the U.S. motocross scene is now official—and they’re coming in strong with a two-rider factory team for the 2026 AMA SuperMotocross season according to Chris Cooksey of Cooksey Media
Leading the charge is fan-favorite Justin Barcia, a veteran known for his aggression and ability to land inside the top five on any given night. Barcia, who reportedly meshed well with the structure and personnel of the team—built from the remnants of the old Geico Honda crew—brings experience, speed, and a competitive edge to the red Italian brand’s debut.
Joining him in a surprise move is Dylan Ferrandis, a former 250SX and 450 Pro Motocross Champion. While his name wasn’t widely rumored in the Ducati mix, Ferrandis makes sense as a European addition to balance the team’s identity. His resume is impressive, and his technical skill could prove vital in developing the brand-new platform.
While expectations are low for Ducati in their first year, the star power of Barcia and Ferrandis is sure to generate buzz. However, questions remain—especially around Ferrandis’s reputation for being vocal about bike setup. On a brand-new machine, adaptability and communication will be key.
