Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan made a strong statement at the opening round of the SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship Playoffs, sweeping both motos in Charlotte for his second career SMX victory. Starting mid-pack in both races, Deegan showcased determination and skill, quickly moving through the field on a track described as difficult to pass on.
Off-track, Deegan responded to social media comments about his decision to skip the upcoming Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in favor of wrist surgery ahead of the Supercross season. Chase Sexton, set to race for Team USA, expressed frustration that top riders like Deegan were missing the event. Deegan countered, stating, “I represent my country every time I don’t let someone from a different country take our trophies.”
As Deegan prepares for a potential move to the 450 class, his emerging rivalries with Sexton and Jet Lawrence promise to heat up both SMX and Supercross, setting the stage for intense battles among the sport’s rising stars.
