The 250 Moto 2 at the Millville National went wild. Heavy rain and a lightning storm delayed the race, and chaos ensued in the first turn. Chance Hymas appeared to secure the holeshot but lost traction, sticking his leg out and catching Deegan’s front wheel, causing Deegan to crash. Hymas, who was second in 250 points, injured himself and was out of the race. Honda HRC reported a foot or ankle injury, but x-rays were negative. He will undergo further tests for ligament damage, as he couldn’t put weight on the foot.
Hymas posted on social media: “Rough weekend. Start was dialed in moto 2 but tried to catch myself from falling and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ankle is pretty banged up but going to do what I can to be ready for Washougal.”
