It was a rollercoaster night for Star Racing Yamaha Jordon Smith at Seattle Supercross last night, with highs and lows ending in an unexpected twist. After a misstep on a triple in the rhythm section, Smith knocked the wind out of himself, struggled to breathe for 30 seconds, and found his handlebars twisted. Despite appearing to hit his head, tests showed no concussion. Grateful for his health, Smith is ready to race again next weekend, thanking fans for their support.
Jordon Smith posted – Well not the night we wanted clearly. Everything was going good until it wasn’t. Got cross rutted and came up short on the triple in the rhythm section. Knocked the breath of myself the worst I have ever had. Couldn’t breathe for about 30 seconds and when I got back on my bike the bars were really twisted and was extremely hard to ride in the ruts to finish the race. The alplinestars medical team pulled me in after the race to check for concussion symptoms even though I didn’t feel like I hit my head at all. I know it looked like I possibly hit my head during the crash but my stomach and chest took the whole impact. I passed the concussion testing with no sypmtons at all. All I can say is I’m happy I’m healthy enough to go race next weekend. Racing has some serious ups and downs and this is just a small bump in the road. I will always give it everything I’ve got while on the track and try to do the best I can for myself and my team. Thanks to everyone that supports me we will be back.
