The comeback of Ken Roczen to Suzuki, a motorcycle brand that hasn’t secured a supercross victory since 2016, which was accomplished by Roczen himself, has caused some skepticism. The RM-Z450 model has remained unaltered since 2018, and the current racing team, HEP Motorsports, has never been in the running for wins prior to this season. Therefore, Roczen had a significant task ahead of him in order to elevate the Suzuki, the new team, and his own performance to a level that could compete for race victories after leaving the Honda HRC squad where he spent six seasons.
Saturday night in Indy, he did it, holeshotting the race and holding off pressure from Justin Barcia to snag the victory. The fans and even his competitors absolutely loved it
Ken Roczen on Social Media – “I am so incredibly proud of @hepmotorsports crew! All the hard work we have put in paid off last night. Soooo many long days and nights because we believed that we can pull this thing off and that’s why we never stopped! The Vibe in the Stadium was something i haven’t witnessed in a long time if ever for me personally. I wouldn’t have want it any other way. To all the riders that came over afterwards…. One of the coolest things ever! I was so stoked on that. It was a night i will never forget. Thank you to seriously to everyone involved. So many people and companies that are part of the program that make all this happen and they don’t get thanked enough in my eyes. So thank you!!! “
