KTM recently faced a massive financial loss of $2.5 billion, raising concerns about the company’s future. Owned by Pierer Mobility Group, KTM is restructuring to address this crisis by cutting costs, scaling back racing efforts, and reducing manufacturing output. This includes eliminating the GasGas brand from their lineup and potentially Husqvarna as well. The high interest rates in the U.S. and declining sales in Europe have contributed to KTM’s struggles. Pierer Mobility is shifting focus towards the Asian market, where sales are stronger, but this shift may lead to less development in the types of bikes Western markets prefer. Racing efforts will also be scaled back, with only KTM remaining in the spotlight, supported by Red Bull sponsorship.
