Unfortunately, this maneuver resulted in a hard crash for Everts, as his front wheel was taken out, causing him to go violently over the handlebars and hit the ground.Everts lay on the track for several laps while medics attended to him.
Coenen later admitted that he lost focus during the race, feeling guilty about the contact and not realizing Everts would be there.An update on Everts’ condition was shared on his social media, stating: “Following a bad crash early in the second race, Liam was taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed that his fifth cervical vertebra (neck) is fractured. He’s regaining feeling in his arms and legs.
