Matt Buyten is seriously injured. Matt had a nasty get off at the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier in Thunder Valley and needs our prayers. Below you can read how serious it is!
Matt Buyten – “Looks like my riding is done. It’s been a amazing ride. We know the risk and I’ve been fortunate with having a blast living my dream riding a dirt bike. I’m currently paralyzed from the mid chest down, surgery is at around 2 today. That’s my last hope to get feeling back but it’s not sounding very good. Apparently I’m at a great facility with one of the top spinal doctors and rehab facilities here in Lakewood, CO. Some brutal thoughts have gone through my head and I had a awesome crew come to the hospital to keep me positive. BIG THANKS, to the crew at @thundervalleymx for getting me off the mtn and to the hospital in a timely matter, everyone worked as a team and that went smoothly thankfully. I had a amazing ride first race yesterday morning with prime weather and dirt, good dudes to race with. Unfortunately I made a big mistake in moto 2 on the up hill and it cost me big time. Thank you everyone who has reached out. I’ve been a mess trying to accept this new life ahead of the family and I. “
UPDATE: I will be permanently paralyzed from the mid chest down.The procedure was just to put in hardware to stabilize me so I can sit up and do what repairs were needed. I am devastated and way to active of a person to be tied down, not sure how I am going to do that. Mainly pissed off I screwed my family over, can’t play with Jett and do things with him also putting Krystal in a tougher position. Going to have ti dig myself out and try. Apparently they have one of the best spinal rehab centers in Lakewood, CO, so I’d like to attend that, it’s a month long program I hear. 🙏🏻
