Matthes on What Led to Webb’s KTM Split – Didn’t Want to Do Outdoors!

    By DirtbikeLoverJuly 7, 2023No Comments1 Min Read

Witness the unraveling of the relationship between Red Bull KTM and Webb as Steve Matthes and Dan Truman delve into Webb’s departure from KTM, with a potential move to Star Yamaha on the horizon.

Matthes: It comes as no surprise to me. I believe there has been underlying tension between the two parties. Webb seemingly preferred not to participate in outdoor races but still wanted to be compensated, while KTM insisted on his participation. This created pressure, and I don’t think Coop was satisfied with his bike, despite KTM claiming otherwise.

Dan Truman remarked: I anticipate that we will see Coop next at the first SMX race in Charlotte. I suspect they reached some sort of agreement that allows him to ride the Star Yamaha bike there, and I believe that is the ultimate objective.
