Monster Energy Star Yamaha Nick Romano announced on Instagram that he won’t be able to participate in the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross and most likely the entire AMA Pro Motocross Championship due to a torn ACL and meniscus suffered during training. He made his professional debut in 2022 with the team in Pro Motocross but had to miss the 250SX East Region opener in Houston last weekend due to a shoulder injury. Romano stated that his recent knee injury will keep him out of competition for the entire 2023 season.
“I don’t have the best of news… but I’m going to be out the whole year. As much as that sucks to say, I am going to missing all of Supercross and probably all of outdoors. I don’t really have words. I ended up blowing out my knee—ACL and meniscus—last week while training. Off-season was going great really making a lot of progress with my team and the bike and just everything on Supercross. I felt amazing. Fitness felt good. Riding felt good. January 3rd I had a Grade 3 separation in my shoulder so that’s what technically put me out for Houston.”
