Preston Kilroy of the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team suffered a double arm and wrist fracture during the first round of the 250SX East Region in Houston on Saturday. The incident occurred when Kilroy cleared a bowl corner during qualifying and collided with a concrete wall, as reported by the team.
Kilroy substituted for the hurt Garrett Marchbanks on the BarX Suzuki team, due to the fact that he himself missed the majority of his rookie season with the team as a result of a broken femur and pelvis sustained during qualifying at Indianapolis the previous year.
According to the team, Kilroy went over the top of a bowl corner in qualifying and hit a concrete wall.
“Prayers for speedy recovery for @preston.kilroy after a very difficult way to start the season! Preston went over the top of a bowl corner to hit a concrete wall breaking both wrists/arm. Chin up Kilroy!”
