Team USA’s initial thoughts on the 2024 Motocross of Nations at Matterley Basin, UK. Team Manager Roger DeCoster talks to the press with Aaron Plessinger, Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac being a part of the team.
Tomac was asked by Paul Malin if it reminded him of Steel City back in the States: “It does (look like Steel City) we were talking about it on the way here. We just got off from walking it and it looks like it has a good flow. First turn looks nice, it’s very deep. From the videos I was watching this looks likes one of the deeper that will be run here. We are ready, it looks nice.
But he said a podium will not cut it this weekend, they are there to win. “A podium is okay, but winning is the only thing that really matters. You don’t go home happy unless you win.”
On a 27th gate pick tomorrow Tomac said: “The starts looks favourable to start from anywhere, so we aren’t worried, it looks okay.”
Webb said: “Back on the the 250, it honestly been fun, with our team we have a great 250 platform, been able to hop right on it an feel right at home. I had great success on a 250 back in the States and it reminded me of that, just a better version of that bike, it’s been fun to get that intensity back and be able to ride the absolute dog out of a bike, it’s been fun, i feel great.”
Plessinger said in what will be his third MXoN appearnce. I feel way more fresh this year. Last year with the new SMX series and just everything, I was a little tired when i got to france. This year I am fresh, i am mentally and physically ready to go. I had a really, really good outdoor season. I think with a few good starts and a few good laps on this track we can really surprise some people.
