During the race, Monster Energy Kawasaki Adam Cianciarulo was fiercely fighting to maintain his lead against Cooper Webb, who was attempting to pass him in the challenging whoops section. However, Cianciarulo lost control of his Kawasaki factory bike and crashed violently.
Thankfully, Cianciarulo escaped the incident without injury and managed to make an impressive comeback from outside the top nine. He eventually finished in fourth place, securing a decent starting position for the main event.
