Chase Sexton had a disastrous start to round one of Pro Motocross. After being forced to discard his goggles on the second lap, things took a turn for the worse. While running in fourth and fending off Eli Tomac, Sexton suffered a heavy crash with the bike landing on him, forcing him to withdraw from the moto.
The defending 450cc U.S. motocross champion—who came into the season with strong momentum from Supercross wins and a clean bill of health—instantly lost 25 points to his title rivals in the opening round.
