During the second qualifying session at the Tampa Supercross last night, Eli Tomac of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing experienced a mishap where he dabbed his left foot in a turn, leading to immediate discomfort. He promptly exited the track and was observed limping, raising concerns about a potential serious injury.
Despite the incident, Tomac was cleared to race in the evening’s main event. However, he appeared to struggle, possibly due to the earlier injury, and finished in 17th place. Still, Tomac proved just how tough he is—at one point, he powered through the whoops with his left leg up by the engine case, riding on essentially one foot. It was mind-blowing to watch. Here’s hoping he gets through this and lines up in Detroit!
