At the post-race press conference following Thunder Valley, Johnny Hopper asked “the hard questions” Aaron Plessinger about the growing rumor of Eli Tomac potentially joining KTM. Plessinger responded with enthusiasm, hypothetically speaking, of course.
“Dude, you kidding me? Frick,” Plessinger said with a laugh, clearly excited at the prospect. He went on to reflect on the impressive list of past teammates he’s shared a rig with: Chase Sexton, Cooper Webb, Ryan Dungey, Tony Cairoli, and Marvin Musquin — and possibly soon, Eli Tomac.
“If that’s not a solid lineup for teammates in a career, I don’t know what is,” Plessinger said. “I’m stoked if that happens. I think we can learn a little bit — I can definitely learn from that guy.”
While nothing has been confirmed, Plessinger’s comments make it clear he’d welcome the addition of the multi-time champion to the KTM camp.
