Honda HRC Chase Sexton was in a good position to make points on Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb until Justin Barcia had a relapse and took Sexton out for second place early in the race. Sexton remounted and got back to fourth but the top three were long gone, and, with Tomac taking second, Sexton lost points he couldn’t afford to lose with only 3 rounds remaining and is now 21 back of the points leader. It’s the second time this season Sexton has been on the wrong end of a strong Barcia move, but this was the most costly.
