The statement regarding the Ironman National and the potential impact of the Motocross of Nations (MXDN) reflects ongoing discussions within the motocross community about event scheduling and venue suitability. The rumor suggested that due to the MXDN, the Ironman National might not take place next year, as traditionally, tracks hosting MXDN events do not also host Grand Prix races. There was speculation that the national event could be moved to WW Ranch, a well-regarded track in Florida. However, recent information indicates that Ironman is still on the schedule for 2025, which suggests a commitment to maintaining this iconic event at its current venue despite earlier concerns.
Steve Matthes’ insights align with these developments, emphasizing the significance of Ironman Raceway within the motocross circuit. The track is known for its challenging layout and has garnered a positive reputation among riders. Additionally, there has been discussion about Ironman potentially hosting future MXDN events, as many riders express enthusiasm for competing there. The last time WW Ranch hosted a Pro Motocross event was in 2020, making it a less active venue compared to Ironman, which continues to play a pivotal role in the sport’s landscape.
It was rumored, because of MXDN, that there would be no ironman national next year, (generally there are no GP's on mxdn tracks) & natl would go to WW Ranch but I've heard Ironman is on MX Schedule for 2025.
