The world’s best Supercross athletes rolled into Marvel Stadium today for Press Day ahead of this Saturday’s Boost Mobile AUSX Open presented by Monster Energy, marking the 10th anniversary of Australia’s premier Supercross event.
Media were given their first look at the purpose-built AUSX Open track, with Jett and Hunter Lawrence drawing major attention as they returned home following a dominant year on the world stage.
“There’s nothing like racing at home,” Jett Lawrence said. “The Melbourne crowd is unreal — Press Day is just the warm-up. Saturday night is going to be wild.”
Hunter Lawrence added: “It’s special to be here for the 10th anniversary. The track feels great already, we’re fired up and ready to put on a show.”
STACKED FIELD SETS THE PACE
A deep roster of SX1 and SX2 contenders joined the Lawrence brothers on track, including Dean Wilson, current SX1 Championship leader, Cédric Soubeyras, Phil Nicoletti, Luke Clout, Aaron Tanti, Dylan Walsh, and Hayden Mellross.
In SX2, Lux Turner, Shane McElrath, and Cole Thompson logged early test laps and rhythm checks ahead of Saturday’s racing.
Event ambassadors Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Brayton also suited up, giving media a rare chance to capture two of America’s most respected Supercross figures riding in Australia.
