The 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship wraps up this weekend at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, bringing the curtain down on a season packed with thrilling racing and standout storylines.
250 Sprint 1 – Max Anstie followed race winner Shane McElrath home in second place, which was enough to secure the SX2 title. Anstie said: “It’s pretty awesome. It’s been a great season, getting to visit so many special countries. The bike never missed a beat, and it’s amazing to be part of this championship. We still have two more races to go tonight, so let’s lock back in.”

450 Sprint 1 – Jason Anderson ran off the track on the opening lap but quickly recovered to take the lead from Joey Savatgy by the end of lap one. Meanwhile, Christian Craig crashed while running third, dealing a major blow to his title hopes, though he charged back from tenth to finish fifth.

250 Sprint 2 – Shane McElrath held off Max Anstie too take his second moto win of the night with Enzo Lopes third.

450 Sprint 2 – Jason Anderson grabbed the lead on lap one, passing Jorge Zaragoza on the Stark, while Christian Craig all but ended his WSX title hopes with a first-lap crash. Joey Savatgy kept his championship hopes alive by charging from outside the top five and making a last-lap pass on Zaragoza for second, setting up a winner-takes-all final moto between Savatgy and Anderson.

250 Main Event – Shane McElrath withstood relentless pressure from Max Anstie all moto long to claim the overall at the final round of the World Supercross Championship. Anstie missed out on his first overall win of the season but still walked away as the World Champion.

450 Main Event – Jason Anderson and Joey Savatgy went all out in bar-banging warfare for the World Supercross Championship, with Anderson ultimately taking both the race win and the title. Savatgy made a decisive push in the penultimate corner but missed the move, giving Anderson just enough breathing room in the final turn to seal the 2025 SX1 World Supercross Championship after riding on the absolute edge.
