The 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship continues this weekend as the series heads to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, for Round 9 of the 17-round championship on Saturday night. The event also marks the second Triple Crown race of the season, bringing a unique format that will see riders compete in three shorter main events instead of the traditional single main event.
This weekend’s race is also the third round of the 250SX East Division Championship, where the title fight is just beginning to take shape after the opening rounds earlier in the season.
Triple Crown Format Returns
The Triple Crown format adds an extra level of intensity to the night show. Instead of one long main event, riders will compete in three separate races, with overall finishing positions determining the final results. This format often rewards consistency, as a mistake in one race can quickly impact a rider’s overall score.
Indianapolis previously hosted a Triple Crown event in 2024, making this only the second time the city has used this format.
