Jorge Prado’s debut AMA Pro Motocross season with Kawasaki has been anything but smooth. The reigning MXGP World Champion wrapped up the 2025 outdoor series in sixth place, admitting he “never felt comfortable on the bike, not even a bit,” and that riding under those conditions built into “an unsafe feeling.”
Fueled rumors of a split with Kawasaki despite two years left on his contract. Talks with KTM and Honda have surfaced, but Prado has already turned down bonus-only deals, leaving his future uncertain.
Amid the speculation, a pointed comment attributed to Dean Gibson surfaced online:
“Also everyone on this team worked endlessly to help you and we did not give up like you. Sorry but not sorry.”
While it’s unclear if this reflects Kawasaki’s stance, it highlights the tension surrounding Prado’s situation. For now, the Spaniard turns his focus to Budds Creek and the upcoming SuperMotocross finals, hoping to finish the year on a stronger note.
Dean Gibson posted comment on Jorge Prado post about the situation – I call bullshit! I have never seen in my 35 years anyone give up like you! You are not a champion in my eyes! Thank you for nothing! Also everyone on this team worked endlessly to help you and we did not give up like you. Sorry but not sorry.
According to an article from Racer X’s “Ask Ping” feature, Dean Gibson is Kawasaki’s engine specialist, responsible for handling the motors on their factory motocross machines
