Star Racing Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan, the 2024 Pro Motocross Champion, recently addressed his fans to clarify the situation surrounding his participation in the Motocross of Nations (MXoN). Despite his strong desire to represent his country, Deegan explained that he has hardware in his wrist that needs to be removed after the SuperMotocross (SMX) season, which requires time to heal. To ensure he’s fully prepared for pre-season training and to maximize his chances of securing a Supercross (SX) title, the team has decided it would be best for him not to attend MXoN this year. Deegan emphasized that he is a racer at heart and is eager to compete in the future if given the opportunity. He expressed gratitude to his supporters for understanding his situation.
Star has removed Deegan from consideration as they believe the recovery time associated with this surgery will hamper his preparation for 2025 Monster Energy Supercross. Undergoing surgery after the MXoN would cause that inevitable setback to become more significant.
Haiden Deegan posted on social media – Wanted to get the record straight I have hardware in my wrist that needs to be taken out after Smx and will have to heal, so the team has made the decision to not let me attend the mxon to make sure I can make pre season training this year on time to give me the best chance at a sx title, so don’t get it confused I’m a racer and wanted to race, and if the opportunity comes up in the future I’d be stoked to do it, thanks to everyone that supports me
