Deegan’s Mechanic Fires Back at Complaints Over SMX Cancellation!

    By DirtbikeLoverSeptember 8, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Haiden Deegan’s mechanic, Brent Duffe, has spoken up following the fan backlash over the SuperMotocross Playoff opener in Charlotte being cut short. Many fans were upset and even asked for refunds, but Duffe pointed out that the weekend still delivered plenty of action. Riders hit the track five times, the pits were open early, and fans saw just as much racing as a normal Supercross round. He also noted the positive side—no riders were injured battling in unsafe conditions.

The event itself was forced to end early after lightning strikes repeatedly delayed Moto 2. With safety concerns and fading daylight, organizers officially canceled the race, making Moto 1 results final. That meant Haiden Deegan claimed the 250SMX win, while Jett Lawrence took the 450SMX victory.

While the decision left some fans frustrated, Duffe’s message was clear: appreciate the racing that happened and be glad everyone will be ready to line up again next weekend.

Brent Duffe said – “Why are moto fans becoming so soft? I see everyone complaining about wanting refunds from Charlotte. You still got a full day on Friday, and the pits were open at 8am on Saturday. Your favorite riders were literally on the track 5 times this weekend. That’s as much as you would get at supercross! On the plus side, nobody got injured trying to race in the mud in moto 2, so you’ll be able to watch everyone race again next weekend.”
