Joey Savatgy Injury Update Following Arlington Supercross Crash!

    adminBy adminFebruary 28, 2023Updated:February 28, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

At round seven of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross in Arlington, Joey Savatgy injured his wrist, raising concerns about potential significant damage. However, a recent visit to his local doctor confirmed that there were no fractures or breaks, which is great news. Nonetheless, he is still recovering and racing against time for the next round of the season. Despite this, he is expected to be ready for the upcoming race in Daytona.

Currently placed ninth in the championship standings for the premier class, Savatgy earned only one point in Arlington. With a five-point gap between him and Christian Craig in eighth place, it remains to be seen if this will be significant in the near future. Currently competing for Rick Ware Racing, Savatgy’s contract is set to expire following Daytona, and while there were rumors of a continuation, this now seems unlikely.

In a social media post, Savatgy confirmed the status of his wrist injury.

“Well, good news. Nothing broken! Just banged up. Very disappointed in myself, last lap of the first main I accidentally hit my back brake on the face of a jump and framed the jump front wheel first. I’ll do my best to be ready for this weekend.”
