Red Bull Factory KTM Julien Beaumer faced a tough outing at SMX Playoff 1, where he posted the 11th fastest lap in the first 250SMX qualifying session. Unfortunately, a crash in the second timed session brought his weekend to an abrupt end. The 19-year-old was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a burst fracture of his L3 vertebra. He has since undergone surgery to stabilize the injury.
This evening, KTM provided an update on Beaumer in their post-race press release. The team announced Beaumer suffered a burst fracture of his L3 vertebra and has already went through surgery. Here is the full update.
