The 450 Main Event at Anaheim 1 erupted into chaos on the opening lap as multiple riders went down in a heavy crash. Justin Barcia made contact with Malcolm Stewart, and both riders were immediately attended to by the Alpinestars Medical Crew. Hoping everyone is okay.
MXA reported that, according to a Troy Lee Designs Race Team representative, Barcia can feel all of his limbs and was taken to a local hospital for a check-up. It was a scary crash to watch.
Kellen Brauer also shared that, according to Ducati, Barcia is coherent and can feel everything but is in a lot of pain. He was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Troy Lee Ducati confirmed that Justin was alert and communicating with the medical staff as he left the track, and that he could feel and move all of his limbs. As of 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, he is still undergoing additional scans and tests to further assess his condition.

Barcia posted a nearly two-minute video of himself providing an update. He said, “I only broke a little wing on my back, so no surgery.” In short, Barcia said, “I am happy to say I was able to walk out of the hospital under my own power. I got extremely lucky. God was looking out for me yesterday.”
Thankfully, Justin Barcia WALKED out of the hospital today! Said his spine is okay and he’s just really sore but aside from a broken “wing” that his spine is stable and no surgery. Unbelievable! pic.twitter.com/QOpYZqGViX
