Glenn Coldenhoff suffered a heavy crash in Saturday’s MXGP qualifying at Ironman, going down hard and leaving the track in visible pain with suspected rib injuries. While no official confirmation has been made on whether he will line up for Sunday’s races, his participation is now in serious doubt.
If Coldenhoff is unable to race, Team Netherlands would be forced to compete with only two riders — Kay de Wolf and Calvin Vlaanderen — putting their MXoN podium hopes in jeopardy. Without Coldenhoff’s experience and the crucial drop-score option, the Dutch team would have to deliver flawless performances to stay in the fight.
