The 2024 MXGP World Motocross Championships return to Europe this weekend at the picturesque Loketske Serpentiny circuit for the MXGP of Czech Republic, the 27th such event at this popular hard-pack venue and the first of five GPs within a six-week run. The time to hit form for the riders is right now!
The MXGP World Championship will see a continuation of the almighty tussle between the three multiple World Champions in the class – Tim Gajser leads the series into a venue where he enjoys plenty of support, but has never taken a GP win away from! Defending World Champion Jorge Prado has to hack down a 34-point lead on the red plate holder, but Jeffrey Herlings is currently on fire and only 17 further points behind! There is also the return of last year’s winner at this track, French favourite Romain Febvre, to stir into this delicious mix, with Calvin Vlaanderen also looking to repeat his race-winning success here from 2023!
The MX2 class continues to be led by the teammates in white, Kay de Wolf and Lucas Coenen, with the Belgian hot off a win at Lombok and ready to mount a serious charge! The hard-pack circuit will suit their chasers, however, so watch out for a challenge from Simon Laengenfelder, Liam Everts, Andrea Adamo, Mikkel Haarup, and the ever fast-starting Sacha Coenen!
